10 Must See Historic Attractions in Dublin Ireland
"Founded in 1911, the National Cathedral and Collegiate Church of Saint Patrick, Dublin has been a staple of the history and religious affiliations of the country since Saint Patrick baptized the first Christian convert in the makeshift outdoor baptismal. This historical landmark played a significant role in the history of Ireland and is still the largest cathedral in the country. Daily tours permit visitors to walk through hallowed hallways and discover the history of a building that withstood storms, fires, neglect, and even persecution over an 800 year period."

"Ireland's largest church, St Patrick's Cathedral was built between 1191 and 1270 on the site of an earlier church that had stood since the 5th century. It was here that St Patrick himself reputedly baptised the local Celtic chieftains, making this bit of ground some fairly sacred turf: the well in question is in the adjacent St Patrick's Park, which was once a slum but is now a lovely spot to sit and take a load off."

9 Famous Historical Landmarks To See in Dublin
"Chances are, most of the pictures you’ve seen of the River Liffey were taken from the Ha’penny Bridge, an elliptical arch bridge that stretches almost 150 feet across and one of the most photographed bridges in the city. Connecting the northside and the southside of Dublin city, the first ever pedestrian bridge in Dublin has been in operation since 1816. For the first hundred years of its life, foot passengers were required to pay a toll of half a penny to cross – hence its nickname which endures to this very day."

"It is made of ornate cast iron and although its official name is the Liffey Bridge, it is still called the Ha’Penny Bridge. The name is derived from the cost (ha’penny or 1 1/2 pence) charged early Irish pedestrians to cross the Liffey River. It is a great place to stop and take pictures commemorating your Dublin visit. Budget fifteen minutes to take pictures and admire the Ha’Penny Bridge and its ironwork."
